the story from the field

CropShare volunteers come in all shapes and sizes...

...and take part in all sorts of activities...

...which produce delicious organic fruit and veg!

You're never sure quite what you'll find... the beautiful surroundings of Willow Farm...

...but you'll share it all together!

Everyone is welcome to join in on the farm!

Ever since the first onion harvest in 2011, Transition Cambridge CropShare has been in partnership with Waterland Organics to form a community-supported agriculture (CSA) scheme right here in Cambridge. Volunteers can join Farmer Paul and Farmer Doreen to help grow and share all kinds of fresh seasonal organic veg across the farm.

At CropShare you can:

  • Have fun in the field with others
  • Learn about organic vegetable growing
  • Get a share of crops each time you visit
  • You may even have the chance to ride on the tractor-pulled, human-powered planter or weeder.

No farming experience is required and anyone can come along, have fun and contribute, regardless of your level of ability.

Want to know more about "Crop-Sharing"?

We experiment with ‘crop-sharing,’ which we define as an exchange of use of land for access to labour - creating opportunities for farm-community collaboration.
