Watch this space for new Transition events in Cherry Hinton. A new volunteer is needed to co-ordinate the group and do the webpages, since I'll be shortly moving to Histon. Contact me (Jerry) using the contact page if you are interested in taking over this role.

Friday 12th November 2010, 8pm: New members' event, 22 Leyburn Close, Cherry Hinton, CB1 9XR
A number of people saw the inspiring film "The Turning Point". This film explores the vital importance of community in the 21st century and its role in helping us to create a life-sustaining society. Some of the sustainable community solutions that have grown up over the last 20 years around the Findhorn Foundation community in Scotland are examined. A selection of local wines, apple juices, cider and cheese was enjoyed by those present.

Saturday 24th July 2010: Cherry Hinton Community Groups Fair, Cherry Hinton Village Centre, 12-4pm
A variety of local groups had stalls at this free event. Our stall gave out plants in return for donations. We shared our stall with volunteers from the City Farm project (planning a City Farm at Cherry Hinton Park). Transition Cherry Hinton is supportive of the City Farm project, which we believe would enhance sustainability and provide a great educational asset for the local area.

Sunday 18th July 2010: Big Lunch, Cherry Hinton Recreation Ground.
Over 50 people enjoyed the Big Lunch on Cherry Hinton Recreation Ground. Games of rounders and a tug of war proved very popular. Good weather (warm but not too hot) made it a pleasant opportunity for people to meet their neighbours and find out about Transition. See the Cherry Hinton Big Lunch Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Cherry-Hinton-Big-Lunch/127587550613615?ref=ts for further details. With special thanks to Lush for helping to fund this event.

Thanks to all those who helped organise this event, especially Nazzarena and Colin.
