Wednesday 19 March: Growzones 2014 Introductory Meeting

19:30, Friends Meeting House in Jesus Lane

Grow Zones is a fun and practical way to help households grow food in their garden or allotment. It involves coming together for form work parties that go round each person's garden/allotment in turn, spending a few hours doing a project that would take much longer to do alone. After a successful season's work in spring 2013, the next sessions are planned for spring 2014. At the introductory meeting we'll explain how it works, show a short dvd and there will be time to ask questions. Come along to find out more - all welcome! More info here.

Saturday 05 April: Grow Your Own Session in Trumpington

10:00-13:00, Trumpington allotments

Join experienced allotmenteer Dave Fox on his plot in Trumpington. Novices and experienced growers all welcome - this is a mutual sharing, not a lesson:) In the 5th April session we will be sowing lots of seeds, finally build that raised bed, take a look round the community polyunnel and have a cuppa with Dave's mum. Join in here. More details here.

Food for a Greener Future Conference

Transition Cambridge and Cambridge Carbon Footprint got together to organise a fantastic conference on sustainable food, with speakers, workshops and discussions. More details here.

Seed saving tips from Seedy Sunday

At Seedy Sunday we asked people to tell us their best seed-saving tips - you can read people's suggestions here. It's quite easy and you end up with more seeds that you can possibly use yourself - so more to bring along for next year's Seedy Sunday (25 January 2015)!
