Committee Rooms 1 and 2, the Guildhall, Market Square, Cambridge, CB2 3QJ
Cambridge City Council invite you to this consultation workshop about Cambridge City Council’s new draft Climate Change Strategy. (The idea for the workshop came from TC Energy Group but now the Council has enlarged it to invite other environmental groups in the city).
Tackling climate change remains a key priority for the Council. The aim of the Climate Change Strategy is to provide the framework for Council action to help mitigate climate change and support local residents and businesses to respond and adapt to the effects of climate change. The strategy sets out five objectives for the Council and a range of projects and actions that will help deliver these objectives.
We are consulting on the draft Climate Change Strategy, and are keen to hear the views of local environmental groups. The aim of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for you to comment on the key actions proposed in the strategy. There will be also be a chance to share any ideas or suggestions for additional activity that you think the Council should take forward.
There will be an opportunity to discuss the strategy with Council officers who were involved in drafting it, and who will be delivering some of the key actions, including David Kidston (Strategy and Partnerships Manager), Janet Fogg (Climate Change Officer) and Emma Davies (Senior Sustainability Officer – Design and Construction).
The key issues raised at the workshop will be presented to Councillors at the Council’s Strategy and Resources Committee on 20 March 2016. Where we are able to take on board suggestions made at the workshop, these will be incorporated in a revised version of the Strategy, which will be presented to Councillors at the same meeting.
If you are likely to attend please let us know in advance, so that we have an idea of numbers for catering purposes and layout of the room. Please email Sustainable City to confirm.
