If you can help with any of the items below please contact us.
Please get in touch if you would like to join us in communicating about sustainable food in and around our local area.
We regularly have stalls at the big public events in Cambridge (eg Mill Road Winter Fair, Food, Garden and Produce show) and we need people to help to staff the stall. This involves talking to the public about food sustainability issues and promoting our wonderful projects (cropshare, garden share etc). Don’t worry – we’ll give you the info you’ll need! Also, we welcome donations of produce (fruit and veg), and little plants in season. They are offered on our stalls in exchange for donations (of money!).
From time to time, there are opportunities to do a workshop on aspects of producing food eg growing your own fruit and veg, keeping chickens. Sometimes we’re asked to do a talk on a food-related topic eg ‘Making the most of food’.
We often need help publicising our events – designing posters, putting them up, updating this website and others, social media, and so on.
Please get in touch if you would like to help us. You’re also welcome to come along to one of our regular fortnightly meetings in Cambridge. These are on Tuesdays 6.30 till 8.30pm – you can find the dates and venues in the Transition Bulletin and the Transition Events page.
Please email us if you would like to help or contribute your ideas, whether or not you can come to meetings.
At the moment we are particularly looking for assistance with:
The SkillShare group (a partnership between Transition and Cambridge Carbon Footprint) is in need of some new energy, so would very much welcome some new people to get involved. Over the last couple of years we've helped run SkillsFests, Repair Cafes and a Restart Party, all of which were very popular. We'd love some help taking these ideas or other skillsharing ideas forward! (Email us here.)
Transition Cambridge aims to help Cambridge make the transition to ways of life that are more resilient in the face of rising energy prices and a changing climate.
