We meet most Sunday mornings at 10:30am for a couple of hours in the garden.

Here in the garden we have a lot going on...
...there are seedlings in our toasty polytunnel,...
...a shed with a green roof (put up by volunteers)...
...and even a shady pond teeming with life!
Come and explore for yourself!
The Community Garden started 4 years ago when the local council wanted something done with a boggy, weedy patch of land near the Botanic Gardens. A Transition volunteer agreed to help design a community garden that aims to be ecologically sound and run on organic permaculture principles.
Today, Empty Common Community Garden boasts a variety of crops, wheel-chair accessible raised beds, a poly-tunnel, pond, forest garden, wildlife habitat boosters and much more. Volunteers meet on Sunday mornings (10.30am) to chat and garden together and can range in number (from 14 on a summer's day to 6 hardy gardeners in winter), skill and background.
It is a great place to relax, play or socialise. Experienced gardeners and novices alike can learn and practice their gardening skills. All are welcome to come along and get involved!
