Seedy Sunday 2016
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this popular seed swap event, held at Trumpington Village Hall, Trumpington, Cambridge CB2 9HZ on 24th January 2016, 1:30-4:00pm. Entry is £2.00 for adults, and children are free.
This is what happened:
Bring self-saved seeds to exchange, exchange bought surplus seed, or take seeds in exchange for a small donation. If you don't have any spare seeds, don't worry - there are always plenty to go round.
2pm: by Paul Robinson of Waterland Organics on 'Seeds and the Smallholder'
3pm: by Jo Sinclair and the Transition Cambridge Wildlife Wanderings group on 'Wildlife Gardening'.
Refreshments, tea and cake will be provided by Trumpington W.I.
There will also be home-baked artisan seeded-breads from Cambake, 'Richly Baked' and 'Abundance Bakehouse'.
These will include: Thomas Etty Heritage Seed Merchants, Transition Cambridge, Trumpington Community Orchard, Heritage Seed Library, Cambridge Sustainable Food, Raffle, and more.
We now have a lovely poster. If you could send this poster round to anyone you know who might be interested, or print it out and display it where you think is suitable, we would be very grateful!
We welcome volunteers to help on the day. Please contact the organisers. And if you can offer a raffle prize, we'd also love to hear from you (e.g. yummy home-made jams, chutneys, cakes, books, or a skill you could share?).
You can also follow us on Facebook for the latest updates.
This event is organised by wonderful volunteers from the Trumpington Allotment Society and Transition Cambridge.
