Don't forget we can now recycle plastic pots, tubs, trays, packaging film carrier bags as well as bottles. Please make sure everything is clean though, or it contaminates everything, especially the paper. For more details see the council web page
Recycling champions are people who think unnecessary waste is a disgrace and that we have better things to do with our precious land than to bury our rubbish in it.
All over Cambridge volunteer recycling champions are helping to get people in their communities to recycle more. From helping out at events, signing up to our newsletter to chatting to your neighbours about recycling there’s lots of ways to get involved.
Venue: Rock Road Library, Rock Road, off Cherry Hinton Rd (Hills Rd end)
Time: 15:00-17:00
Join recycling champions to learn about types of plastic, why we should avoid over-using it and why it is important to recycle it wisely. Waste plastic can, however, be used and reused for creative projects and especially in the garden. We will have some waste plastic, including from Scrapstore, but do bring some cleaned waste plastic (not from meat-use or nasty chemicals) and we can work out together how to re-use it. Let’s think ‘fantastic’ as well as practical! We will bring some seeds, compost and baby plants too for you to start, or take away, a mini edible garden for a windowsill or outside. Free, but donations to Library Friends would be welcome. More
